Giving Tuesday is a nationwide day of giving that occurs on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday each year and is a celebration of America's greatest traditions: generosity, entrepreneurialism, and community. NY Gives Day builds on the focus of Giving Tuesday by engaging many of the major nonprofit networks and leaders in New York State to encourage more nonprofits and donors to participate. Everyone has something to give. You can give time or expertise, monetary donations large or small, simple acts of kindness, food or clothing. Learn more.

Also announced was Saranac Brewery’s new fundraising campaign to support United Way. Kicking off on NY Gives Day and running through December, shoppers at the Brewery’s two gift shop locations can make a donation helping “Fill the Keg” for United Way.
“We’re very proud of our longstanding relationship with United Way and humbled to be able to contribute to all the amazing work they do for our community,” said Fred Matt, F.X. Matt Brewing Company President and COO. “We spend all summer emptying kegs with United Way at Saranac Thursdays, so we’re excited to “Fill The Keg” for Christmas and hope this can be the beginning of another chapter in the Saranac and United Way partnership.”
Saranac Brewery’s gift shops are located at 830 Varick Street, Utica, and the old Village Toy Shop location in the New Hartford Shopping Center, 120 Genesee Street, New Hartford. 100% of “Fill the Keg” funds raised will remain in the community, going to United Way’s community fund.
