WHAT IS YOUNG LEADERS UNITED?
The mission of Young Leaders United is to support the work of United Way and foster community engagement among the next generation of leaders by inspiring philanthropy and volunteerism in the Valley and Greater Utica area. Young Leaders United provides a variety of opportunities to meet other individuals with similar professional and community interests. Young Leaders United members are committed, compassionate and generous individuals who are dedicated to making a positive impact throughout our community.
WHAT CAN YOUNG LEADERS UNITED OFFER ME?
Young Leaders United members develop personally and professionally by participating in a number of events that focus on fundraising, volunteering and networking. This unique and dynamic group offers members opportunities to personally contribute towards improving lives through volunteerism in support of United Way’s community impact strategies focused on education, income, health and safety net/basic needs.
GENERAL MEMBERSHIP General members are individuals age 40 and under donating $100 or more annually to United Way. This exclusive group of young professionals will receive regular updates on issues in our community and engage with activities at United Way.
COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP Young Leaders United committee members are offered many ways to become involved in making a difference in people’s lives. Committee members work with United Way staff to identify volunteer, fundraising and networking opportunities that resonate with the group’s interests. In addition, committee members will have the opportunity to interact with other important local leaders at networking and volunteer events, helping to address the issues that matter most in our community.
Interested in becoming a Young Leaders United committee member?
As a Young Leaders United committee member, you will be asked to join one of two task forces and attend monthly meetings. Further, you will be expected to assist in planning, decision making and participate as a volunteer at events hosted by Young Leaders United.
